Find what health means to you

Stephanie Barrette, Founder of Sunshine Counseling

Meet Stephanie

Pronouns: She/Her

Truth be told, I named my therapy practice after a coffee mug my friend gave me a while back ... a mug which sarcastically declares, “I’m a ray of freaking sunshine!” This cheeky little mug actually encapsulates my worldview quite well. It’s not all sunshine and rainbows. There are ups and downs and we are all works in progress. And that’s ok.

My role as a clinician is to partner with people who are ready to make sense of it all. I’ll help you identify what health uniquely means for you and guide you in developing a plan to achieve health in your life. In working with me, you’ll find a safe, accepting, and supportive environment.

I am a member of the LGBTQ+ community, a feminist, a mother of three, and an advocate for social justice. I enjoy hiking, traveling, binge watching Netflix, good books, and tacos. And let’s not forget cupcakes!

“Stephanie is great at exhibiting warmth and authenticity. She has a way of making people feel heard, accepted and validated. She puts in the time and effort to make her clients certain of her willingness to assist them in their current journey. As a bonus, she has a multitude of experience and a light sense of humor to help others feel at ease.”

— Renee Augustyn, LMSW
